Why am I seeing a “Your device may have been modified” screen in the GX Bank App?
To protect your account, the GX Bank app checks your device security whenever you open the app, return to the app, or perform certain security actions. If we detect a device state or tool that could weaken app security, app access may be blocked temporarily.
Your device may be in a modified state or have software that can interfere with the secure operation of the GX Bank app. This may include an unlocked bootloader, dynamic instrumentation tools, or an active debugger. These conditions can increase the risk of unauthorized access, app tampering, or misuse of your banking information.
Why does GX Bank restrict access?
A modified device state or security-risk tool may:
- bypass or reduce built-in security protections,
- inspect, alter, or interfere with app behaviour at runtime,
- increase the risk of fraud, unauthorized actions, or data exposure.
The restriction helps protect your GX Account and money. It is a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of unauthorized access or misuse of your banking information.
What should I do?
- Stop using the GX Bank app on this device.
- Use a different secure device to access the GX Bank app.
- Only log in on a device that has not been modified and does not have software that may interfere with the secure operation of the app.
If you have resolved all issues and are still unable to access the app, please contact us.
