What if the interest calculated from the end of day balance is less than RM0.01?

Interest is credited to your Main Account and Savings Pocket(s) when the daily interest earned is rounded up or down to at least RM0.01. If the daily interest calculation results in an amount less than RM0.01, this interest is zeroed out and will not be credited to the corresponding Main Account or Savings Pocket(s).

Here are a couple of examples to illustrate:

  • Example 1:
    • End of day balance: RM60.83
    • Daily interest calculated: RM60.83 X 3% p.a. / 365 days = RM0.00499
    • In this scenario, no interest will be credited to the account because the interest amount is rounded down when the third decimal number is below 5.
  • Example 2:
    • End of day balance: RM60.84
    • Daily interest calculated: RM60.84 X 3% p.a. / 365 days = RM0.00500
    • In this case, an interest of RM0.01 will be credited to the account as the interest amount is rounded up when the third decimal number is 5 or above.
